We customized
this excursion using a Driver-Guide (or Driver Escort). A
Driver Guide is a chauffeurs (or driver) specialized to drive you
around our amazing island. He is able to provide basic historical
information, he can show you the main highlights ... he is
knowledgeable and he has an umbrella of information. Our Driver
Guide will take care to give adequate time at all stops and to
accommodate special requests when possible, he will
assure that your experience in Sicily will be both memorable and
enjoyable.
The Driver Guide is not
a Licensed Tourist Guide
(Licensed Tourist
Guide: are the only professionals -- with a Regional license --
permitted to conduct visits and tours in all sites and museums
within a city) and he cannot escort you inside the monuments because
this is not allowed by Italian Rules. In case you need a Licensed
Tourist Guide you must pay a surcharge and we will arrange for
Licensed Guide to meet you directly on the spot.

cefalu' & Tindari

Welcome to the
warm, beautiful and pleasant island of Sicily! Upon arrival at
Messina port, you will find the driver guide waiting
holding a sign with your full name. Today we depart for Cefalů and
the Tindari Sanctuary: Cefalů is a charming coastal town
which boasts a massive Norman Cathedral with outstanding
mosaics. On arrival time to explore the town. Later continue to
Tindari. It was founded as the Greek colony of Tyndaris in 396
BC and was located on the high ground overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea
in the Gulf of Patti. The Battle of Tyndaris took place off the
coast in 257 BC. It is also famous for the poem Vento a Tindari,
written by Salvatore Quasimodo, as well as a Sanctuary to the
Madonna and a lagoon. Local legend tells that the lagoon was
created after a pilgrim who came to see the Madonna refused to pray
to the Madonna because she was black. The woman accidentally dropped
her baby into the ocean and the Madonna made the land rise to save
the baby. The sands of Marinello have taken shape of the profile of
the Madonna. During afternoon back to Messina port.

Today you are greeted at Messina port and
drive to Etna Park a beautiful Volcano rich in sounds,
perfumes, and colors. An enchanting Alcantara Valley landscape
protected by a nature park you cannot miss the opportunity to
visit if you are in Sicily. The Park extends from the peak of the
volcano to the towns around it. We will enjoy our scenic drive
passing on Castiglione di Sicilia and the Alcantara Gorges
(admission fee: charge). After, we drive along the coast to
Taormina, the world famous resort of Sicily. On arrival time at
leisure to rest or explore the town or independent visit to the
Greek-Roman Theatre (admission fee: charge). During afternoon back
to Messina port.

GODfather & TAORMINA

Today you are
greeted at Messina port and drive to enjoy the scenes of The
Godfather movie. From the coastal road, rich of villas,
flowering gardens, and picturesque villages, leads to the historical
artist town of Savoca. In a private house in the village,
Bar Vitelli houses a collection of local artisans' tools and
photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot scenes of The
Godfather II. Stroll along the village's main street past Santa
Lucia and San Michele churches for a short view over the valley.
Drive away, we'll find a charming little village over-looking the
Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio. In 1990, Al Pacino
and Sophia Coppola shot scenes here for The Godfather III. From the
main square, a lane meets the circular steps that ascend to the
Gothic-Catalan portal in front of the Church of San Agostino. Later
we will continue to Taormina, the resort town of Sicily. On
arrival time at leisure to explore the town or independent visit to
the Greek Roman Theatre (admission fee: charge) from where we can
admire an amazing view. This afternoon back to Messina port.
